regional clustering
by: FarawaygurlyHave you guys noticed if any of the houses more than others have strong geographic diversity? I mean like they really want to get a good mix? Seems like the old row houses have like half Alabama girls and then others are still from south, while others have more balance.

Looks like they all take girls from everywhere but houses like kappa, axo, xo and agd are heavy with in state and don't pull many from more populated regions or states. Seems like the more Alabama girls you have the higher your rank. Prob nothing on the merits, just creatures of habit and fine breeding and contacts that the local girls have. Like they have tryouts but a number of kids already know they are making one or two teams. i think pi phi has most quality mix.

If you have Alabama girls, they are more likely to marry Alabama boys and settle down in Alabama, where they will be available to be chapter advisers and where they will send THEIR daughters to school.
OOS girls are more likely to graduate, go back home, marry their boyfriend, and not be around to advise or send their daughter to Alabama.
It doesn't happen like that with everybody, but for the majority it does.
