What qualities separate a middle of the row house from being upper? Or a lower middle house from being middle?

Quality of membership, tradition, grades, fraternal culture, campus involvement, popularity. And I hate to say it but dollars may be factor, too.

If you go the the Alabama IFC website each house has the email of their rush chair listed. If you don't have any connections with those houses through family, friends, etc it might be very hard for you to get on their rush list. They are exclusive houses for a reason. Those 3, along with the upper middle houses, have already been compiling a rush list since last semester for next year.

Most of the middle ones have too, though they aren't as hard on guys that haven't been previously on the radar.

Contact new row rush chairmen, too. There's more houses out there than just those three. They may or may not have room

If you don't have connections to those 3 houses your chances of getting a bid are slim, look elsewhere. There are other fraternities you know.

Maybe recently. Pike is definitely doing a lot this late winter/early spring, but earlier this year and last semester Sigma Nu had basement parties all the time. Eb and flow.
