wondering

I'm confused on how the selection process works. With so many girls going through Rush and with the members meeting new girls constantly how do they keep up with who they like

There's a system. As soon as you leave, we write down everything we remember about you. That's why we are staring at your name tag. In addition to us keeping up with conversation with you, we're trying to remember your name, where you're from, etc. We write it down and then get ready for the next party. That's just the first round or so. After that, we already know which girl we are picking up at the door. Even if you don't known us, we already know everything about you. Then we rank you when you leave. At the end of the day, we get together and see your faces on slide shows and we vote.

Before recruitment, we thoroughly examine the info you submit to Panhellenic, and any recommendations we receive on you. We run spreadsheets like the devil on all 2200 rushees. So true - we know you long before you step through the door!

Selection process is chapter business, meaning that it's a secret. It's different for every house and until you are an initiated member you have no right to know about any house's selection process.

Like the third commenter says, what goes on in regards to picking girls is secret but basically once you leave we just jot notes down about you. We've also researched you beforehand so it's not like we have no idea who you are.

Each group can only invite back a certain percentage of PNMs (the number is based on historic return rates and is set by Panhellenic). So every night, just like you, the sorority members rank the PNMs. A certain amount has to be released. Those who rank the lowest are released.
Every day, the numbers are worked down, until the last night, when PNMs are invited back to three, or two, or one, or no sororities.
That's when you're ranking counts the most.
