Everyone keeps saying how competitive it is to get into a sorority is it real as competitive as everyone is making it out to seem? Any advice to help stand out and have better chances? Thanks!

Yes, it is. Put together a good resume, a great GPA will help, get recs, be outgoing, and be put together and look your best. All will help.

Thing of it this way.
Last year, 2,200 women went through sorority recruitment at U of Alabama.
You may think you are the only homecoming queen/cheerleader. 4.4 valedictorian who is a state science fair winner - guess what? There are 125 other women just like you going through.

Yes it's competitive. Indiana and Ole Miss are the only ones more competitive - Indiana because each sorority can only replace the girls who left, and Ole Miss only because there are only about 10 sororities and almost as many rushees as Alabama has.
