sorority selectivity/reputations

If you read the previous posts on here you can get a good idea of sorority reputations. No need for comments (good and bad) to this post to stir the pot. There is a sorority for everyone on campus and all have great girls. Alpha Phi and Kappa are the most selective. Just because a sorority may have a reputation as being a "top" house doesn't necessarily mean it is the right fit for you. Keep in mind that you don't pick the sorority they pick you so never a good idea to have your heart set on one or two sororities. Just be yourself and go with you heart not what you read on this site. Trust the rush process and you will find the right house for you.

A Phi - considered top house thanks to looks, reputation on campus, and consistently strong pledge classes (esp the past two years). the girls are very gorgeous but can come off aloof and stuck up. while there are a few nice ones, the majority are not. they also don’t branch out much beyond pike and sig ep. think the popular but mean girls from high school. highly selective during rush, basically get whoever they want.

DG - considered wannabes. they are nice, pretty girls but total try hards and social climbers. not really a top house but desperate to be seen as one, so keep that in mind during rush if that is something you are concerned about. on a more positive note, i will say that they are social and well liked from a frat’s point of view. think annoying cheerleader types from high school who wished they were in the popular crowd. they are somewhat selective during rush. take a lot of the aphi/kappa rejects.
