Theta had a legacy aka sister of a current member go through recruitment and they let her pick which of her friends were allowed to get bids with her. She got to hand pick her pledge class and was an automatic bid as well

We can criticize Theta for this, but in reality, this is a poor recruitment strategy. Successful recruitment is based on the body of members selecting new members. They hurt themselves.
