University of Tennessee at Knoxville - UTK Greek Life Reviews

I like Greek life here at this school. I am personally in a sorority and everything has been amazing so far! Great parties! Fraternities have hazing but sororities dont. It can be competitive getting into a sorority or fraternity based off of how "popular"they are. Both sororities and fraternities have great parties. Everyone is pretty much involved. I would definitely recommend Greek Life! Go Vols!!!

Greek life is huge at UTK with 25% of the campus being in it. I’m personally in a sorority and our Panhellenic community is awesome. All the girls are so sweet and so pretty. You have your occasional person who isn’t the nicest or the cutest but that’s pretty normal. In terms of hazing fraternities definitely do haze but none of our sororities do. Administration also hates Greek life which is weird because where their highest achieving students, but you don’t really have to worry about it unless you’re a guy. I love being in Greek life I did COB rather than the traditional rush experience so I can tell you if you’re not in Greek life you’re not having fun. Our sororities here are awesome of course they face rumors and stereotypes but when you ignore that you see just how amazing every member of the Panhellenic community is. there’s tons of opportunity for involvement on campus, academic growth, and of course parties. The people who drop are usually people who made problems for themselves, not victims of Greek society. Go Greek or go home!

My opinion

Pretty average sec school greek life. Not the best parties, but not many lame ones. Big time hazing, but again, sec school so you know what you’re getting into.

Amanda sure is making it difficult for the fraternities right now, but other than that the Greek life here is awesome. Fraternities houses are nice and sorority village is insane. The tailgates are a blast as well as the parties. Love it here

The fraternity row houses all smell like booze, vomit and urine. Guys are wasted and have no southern manners. Not a great scene for meeting good guys.

Greek life is pretty amazing at this school in previous years. The houses are beautiful and super nice. A lot of the good fraternities have been suspended this year so I'm not for sure how the following years are going to be.
