Iota Gamma Upsilon - ΙΓΥ Sorority at University of Massachusetts Amherst - UMA 4.4 when you really think about it, the only reason they get hated on is because they don’t have a million nationals paying for their decorations during recruitment and that makes people say they aren’t up to the mark. But I’m friends with half their sisterhood and have been to so many of their mixers with sororities and fraternities on campus and when it comes down to it, they’re literally everything you would want from a sisterhood, these girls love each other and love their chapter and do basically all the good parts of being in Greek life minus the bad parts. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be the second oldest sorority alive at Umass.

Iota Gamma Upsilon - ΙΓΥ Sorority at University of Massachusetts Amherst - UMA 4.2 This sorority has a cool history -- formed back in the 60s with a total focus on the UMass community and as a place for independent-minded women who wanted sisterhood and valued feminism as well, but not interested in adhering to national "standards" about things like clothes. Advantages of not being a national chapter: they write their own destinies, both for sisterhood and beyond. A nice house and very social members. A good place for those who want to bond with smart women but don't want the baggage of a typical sorority.

They're always down to party or just chill and have an awesome house too. I wish people wouldn't give them a bad rep just because they aren't National.
