The administration which wants to get rid of fraternities uses controversies like this as a wedge issue. They practice: "Don't Let a Crisis Go to Waste" They'll play their next hand by putting new restrictions on all IFC because they will be able to point out that the IFC failed to self govern and did not lead on the issue. Doesn't matter what they told the IFC back when. They will throw the IFC under the bus and issue new rules that radically reshape Greek Life.
